T.H.O.R.'s New Easy Trail Reporting System

Branched Oak Area 7 Trail Day

Come on out to Branched Oak Area 7 on Sunday May 31st at 9 AM and help groom the trails, install trail markers, and cut some new trails. The forecast is looking great for a trail day!

T.H.O.R. trail markers will placed at trailheads and other key areas throughout the trail. A new section of trail will also be cut.

Work is scheduled for a couple of hours, so bring a bike and ride the trails afterward!

Friendly reminders:

• Wear long sleeves and pants for protection from critters and poison ivy/oak/sumac
• Wear eye protection
• Bring some leather work gloves
  
• Bring sunblock and bug spray
• Bring plenty of water and snacks (hydration packs work great!)
• Bring loppers, weed wackers, mowers, etc.

ANNUAL MEETING

Thanks to the members attended the Annual Meeting.  It was a great turn-out.  The agenda and notes from the meeting are posted on the Members page.

THANKS TO VOLUNTEERS

This past year has been very trying on the trail workers.  Our trails were hit with near record rain falls, floods, devastating winds, working on a new trail system, and cutting in required re-routes.

Established relationship with Friends of Wilderness Park

Instituted the THOR Trails Blog

Table at Bob Kerrey Bridge opening

Advocacy including Omaha Bike Summit, Rapid City Walk & Bike Summit,  Omaha Welcom Luncheon, and  National Trails Symposium

Our trail workers, all vounteers, have done a supurb job.  Thanks for all of the hours you have put in.

New Tranquility Map

Thanks to the Tranquility Trail Councl, we have a new map of Tranquility Park Mountain Bike Trail.  The new map includes trail section names. The idea was to make it easier for the council and trail users to communicate about trail whereabouts. It seems to already be working.  Check it out.
