The Trail

Jewell Park is the youngest trail system in eastern Nebraska, at only two years old. Burmed into rolling hills, this short trail will give you a work out. It is very strenuous with many short power climbs. You are rewarded with an equal amount of downhill sections, but some can be challenging with twists and turns. Only a few log crossings so far, the trail is like a roller coaster as it swirls and winds its way through the woods. Loop is approximately 3.5 miles. Strenuous.

The Venue

Jewell Park doesn’t have much to offer other than the trail system. City officials are hard at work securing funds to turn the park into a more public-friendly venue. Currently, there are no restrooms or running water.

Getting There

Take Hwy 370 towards Old Towne Bellevue. Head north on Main Street. Follow Main Street north. Main Street will begin to curve to the left (northwest) and become Combs Road. As soon as you pass Forestview Circle (on the right side of the street) look immediately to your left for the trailhead. There is a grassy field and small parking area here. Park.

The Trailhead

To enter: Ride west from the parking area. Look for rutty service road off to your left about 50 yards from the parking lot. Single track starts a few yards up the hill, on the right side.  Parking is limited at the gate.
